New UWA inner campus access restrictions
From 1 January 2019, The University of Western Australia is introducing new ‘inner campus access restrictions’ across the campus to reduce vehicle traffic, and increase pedestrian safety on all of our inner pedestrian walkways.
These new restrictions result in the following changes:
- There will be no vehicle access in the inner campus between 9am and 3pm, weekdays, unless authorised by Security, or in an emergency situation.
- Any vehicle permitted on the inner campus will require an escort on and off site.
- When servicing UWA buildings, authorised inner campus vehicle access will be available before 9am and after 3pm weekdays via a number of ‘endorsed’ entries, pathways and parking areas. These areas are marked out on the UWA Campus Vehicle Access Map.
- All vehicles have access to the campus via public roads, and the University service road (the outer-ring road). The University recognises at times, special vehicle access may be required to ‘unendorsed’ inner campus pathways. These requests will be considered on an as-needs basis.
